Being plus size does not mean you can’t dress fashionable and affordable.  I have spent the last 7-8 years rebuilding my wardrobe.  It’s difficult to find plus size fashion at thrift stores and I am NOT riding all over town for stuff.

Through this experience, I have found that you have to invest in some good solid pieces and then fill in with cheaper items.  For example, I may pay $50 for a pair of pants at Lane Bryant but I have had them for years.  If you take care of them, they will last a long time.  I buy other pieces at Dots, Payless, …you get the idea.

I bought a blue brand name men's shirt and used a belt I bought online to incorporate it into an outfit.  Nothing is new but the belt and shirt.  Everything else I have had for years and all items but the shoes (I actually haggled the price of the shoes because I bought another pair at the same time and the manager gave me a discount) and bracelet were bought with a coupon.

I have on the following:

Khaki's from JcPennys ($25)

Blue man's shirt (Goodwill for $4.25)

Brown leather jacket from Lane Bryant ($60)

Adjustable leather belt that I bought at www.onestopshop.com ($10)

Accessories:

Adjustable leather belt that I bought at www.onestopshop.com ($10)

Gold earrings from Lane Bryant ($10) Brown bead bracelet from Dots ($2)

Leopard print flat from Nine West ($35 (These shoes are extremely comfortable and have lots of support)

Brown purse (I have no idea because I have had it for a long time)

Pieces of Me

I decided to call my blog, "Pieces of Me", because after I woke up from a nap I was thinking about all the things that make up "Me" and who I am inside and out.  It's complicated and that is the way God made me and everyone else.  If we all were easy to understand, life would be so boring!
